As reported by New Telegraph, the nationwide programme, which began on March 30 to April 7, features initiatives such as outreach, awareness campaigns, and welfare programmes led by the Nigeria Police Force under IGP Olatunji Disu. Borno State’s local programmes mirror this national vision while addressing specific community needs.

According to a press release by the Borno State Police Command on its Facebook page, Nigeria Police Force Borno State Command , Commissioner of Police for Borno State, Naziru Abdulmajid, psc, said “This exercise is about building trust and serving the people, providing healthcare and a cleaner environment for all.”
The Command further added, that the programme also demonstrates the police’s commitment to honouring past heroes, engaging residents, and strengthening police community relations.
The programme included basic medical checks and public sanitation at Kofa Biyu Market, engaging both residents and police personnel. Residents praised the initiative, describing it as a meaningful effort to improve health, safety, and community trust
The celebrations align with the national theme, “Community Partnership: Building Trust”, emphasising collaboration, transparency, and public confidence in policing. While major parades occur in Abuja, Borno State organised local events to reflect the national objectives.
Similar initiatives took place in Lagos, Sokoto, and Abia,illustrating the police’s nationwide commitment to communityengagement, as reported by the new Telegraph.
