The Borno State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima as its preferred candidates for the 2027 general elections.
According to a report shared on the Facebook page of Dauda Iliya, the decision was made during a stakeholders’ meeting held on Saturday in Maiduguri and presided over by Governor Babagana Umara Zulum.
The resolution supporting the Tinubu-Shettima ticket was moved by Governor Zulum and backed by party leaders and stakeholders present at the meeting.
Governor Zulum called for unity among party members, urging them to work together to ensure APC’s success in the 2027 elections. He said unity remains key to sustaining the party’s strength in the state.
The meeting was attended by top political figures, including the Deputy Governor, Umar Usman Kadafur; APC Deputy National Chairman (North), Ali Bukar Dalori; State APC Chairman, Bello Atuba; and Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, along with other party stakeholders and government officials.
