Manchester City secured a place in the final of the FA Cup after a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Southampton at Wembley Stadium.
City had to come from behind to seal the win, showing resilience and quality in a tense semi-final encounter. Jérémy Doku restored parity with a crucial equaliser, before Nico González produced a stunning long-range strike to complete the comeback and send the Manchester side through to the final.

The victory marks a third consecutive FA Cup final appearance for manager Pep Guardiola, underlining the club’s continued domestic dominance. City lifted the trophy in the 2022/2023 season after defeating rivals Manchester United, but fell short in the 2023/2024 final, where a spectacular goal from Kobbie Mainoo helped United secure victory. They also suffered defeat in last season’s final against Crystal Palace.
With momentum on their side, Manchester City will now look ahead to the final scheduled for May 16, 2026. Their opponent will be decided between Chelsea and Leeds United, who are set to face off for the remaining spot in the final.
City will be aiming to reclaim the prestigious trophy and further cement their dominance in English football.
